Whether you bring planning, construction, community engagement, or just outright trail enthusiasm to the table, we would love to hear from you with your idea for a conference session. Proposals can be for 75-minute Presentations, full-day Workshops, or half-day Field Trips. Our 'Trails As Connections' conference theme should be kept in mind when developing your abstract. Sample topics include but are not limited to:
Trail planning, design, construction, accessibility, and maintenance
Topics, information, or instruction tailored for a specific trail enthusiast / user group
Outreach and communication strategies to support trail development and use
Volunteerism and stewardship of trails
Trail projects that improved the quality of life, health, environment, and/or economics of a community
Tools for uniting a diverse, dynamic community of trail enthusiasts that includes multi-ethnic, -cultural, and -generational users
Trail network building strategies to meet the recreational and transportation needs of a wide range of user groups whether it's on a local, town-wide, or regional level.
The 2019 MassTrails Conference is funded through the Recreational Trails Program, a grant program supporting trail and trail-related facility construction and enhancement projects across the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
